Are suits for interviews for the wireman apprenticeships frowned upon and hurt your chance at getting the job?
I'm reading the responses on this forum and am fucking shocked. The only job I didn't dress well for was a shitty job working at a clothing store at an outdoor mall and I still got it. Granted I was 17 or 16 years old. Other jobs I looked really well with the exception of another one that I liked "Meh" in, but not like a total piece of shit
When I went in to apply for the electrician apprenticeship everyone looked like slobs, bums off the street and dirty as shit. Maybe 3-4 other guys wore business appropriate attire or "about to get a job" attire.
why is that? and is there any validity to hurting your chances if you wear a suit to an interview? I'd like some perspective from people who recently got hired or at least a year or two ago.
