Dehumidifier vs heat pump dryer for laundry, what's cheaper to run?
We recently got ourselves a heat pump dryer (Beko 8kg if that helps) and a dehumidifier (Ausclimate 10L dessicant).
We've used both in our tiny (4sqm) laundry. The dryer takes about 3 to 4 hours to dry a load. The dehumidifier seems more like an overnight thing.
I'm trying to work out which is more cost effective to run, and intuitively leaning towards the dryer since that is what it was built exclusively to do.
The dehumidifier says it draws 420 to 730W depending on which mode.
The dryer says 125kWh/annum which I find very confusing. I don't quite understand how it can give an annual level of power - based on how many loads and how often?
Anyone have any insights to help?
