I woke up to a great day. I had recently advanced to sequence 7. I was getting richer day by day. Everything was good. So i was going to buy a small house at a mountain to go for a vacation for when i am bored.

I left my apartment and readied my horse. It was staying at an inn close by. I had to pay rent for the horse too but it was not expensive.

I walked along with my horse until i left the city. Then i started riding it to a mountain close to the city that had a good amount of tourists.

…

The mountain had a great view at everywhere. It was a small mountain but it’s lands were perfect for farming. Also it was only a day far from the city.

This is why any land here was expensive. Usually the rich were making a manor here. But as I didn’t want a house that was too big nor a it had a garden to farm I was able to buy a villa. Of course i had used my swindler ability for negotiations too.

…

As the new member of the neighborhood i decided to visit my neighbors. It would be good to have relationships with the rich too. But wherever i went nobody was at home.

They only left some servants and was residing in the city. This was unusual. Around these months most of the rich would come to these mountains.

I was able to see that servants were all nervous from their micro expressions. But they were not lying.

I used my charm ability on some different people to get clues on why their boss was not here. Although they didn’t tell me direct they all said that they felt something was weird around here.

I was convinced that there was supernatural powers that made this. But how could this be? Churches would definitely protect the rich. If the enemy exceeded the power of churches I wouldn’t be alive too.

As a cryptologist it was clear as day to me that churches were the cause of evil here. I decided to investigate the churches.

There was a total of 3 small churches in this small mountain. I visited all of them one by one disguised as a believer.

However they were all closed. I didn’t want to break in because churches may have traps in them for wild beyonders. But i looked inside from the windows and i was able to deduce that nobody has walked inside for at least 2 days.

Perhaps all of these guys left their churches and went somewhere else. I didn’t want to wait for the monks to come back. Who knows what kind of disaster they might bring with them.

I asked around for longer and find out all the monks were friends from childhood. An elder who was a native to the mountain said that they had a secret base from their childhood. Although they used it in their games as a child those guys were still using that place as a hangout place.

It was a cave at the bottom of the mountain. How did their parent let those kids play in a cave far from their village? As i asked this to myself i started riding my horse to that cave.

I was going to decide if i needed to eliminate those runaway monks to secure my newly bought home in the mountain.

…

The cave was in the middle of the mountain village and the city. I looked at the small entrance of the cave. It was indeed a secret base as it took me hours to find the exact location of the entrance.

I walked inside as i watched my surroundings. From the walls and floor i had seen some small bone parts and blood prints.

As a cryptologist i deduced that these guys were making sacrifices to an unknown entity. And it was clear that it was not a good one.

I made almost no sound as i walked. Unless the cave was an extremely deep one it meant that it was empty because there was still no sound at all.

However i kept seeing human parts. The blood prints were getting bigger and the bones started to resemble humans. From them i started decrypting the enemies powers.

As i saw burn marks at least one of them had fire related powers. However there was no spirituality left in those body parts. So they must have been burned too.

That is the power of a witch unless those guys have a higher sequence then 7. But in a small church even a sequence 7 was rare. They were mid sequence because the residents were rich.

But a monk being a witch… This was indeed not normal. But there are all kinds of churches so maybe it is.

As i finally arrived at the deepest part of the cave i saw a a longsword and bow that could not be carried easily. One of them was definitely a weapons master.

And then i saw a corpse that only lost an arm. It was looking at most a day old from afar. I cautiously got close to it. Suddenly the corpse opened it’s eye and jumped towards me.

As a swindler my hands quickness got much better than even when i was a marauder. I took out my revolver and shot the corpse on it’s head before it could get close. This was definitely the job of a werewolf as the corpses nails grew sharper and it started growing fur on it’s body.

However this was a problem. A werewolf could not make another werewolf that lives for too long. So he was definitely close by. And he must have heard the gunshot.

I quickly ran outside the cave. Just as i was about to ride my horse black flames grew on it. I took out my monocle and wore it on my right eye.

Then i made 3 water bodies before using hallucination power to make them look exactly like me. I could make more but i would have to use too much spirituality as i was also using hallucination.

I gave all of them a revolver i carried with myself. This was a strategy i developed to make water bodies more useful.

As my horse burned i saw a very beautiful women. However from the micro impressions i knew she was acting like a man at some movements.

All 4 of me shoot the women at the same time but a werewolf jumped forward to protect her. All bullets hit the werewolf but it had regenerative powers.

To stop his from using regeneration we shot him again but both the witch and werewolf took cover.

I couldn’t see the weapon master so it meant he wasn’t here yet. Those giants usually preferred fighting head on. So this was my chance as the giant wasn’t here yet.

Suddenly the floor started freezing. It was turning into ice which restricted my movement. However both the werewolf and witch was not restricted by it as the werewolf had claws and witch was the one doing it.

But as the witch left cover for a second to do this i had the chance to shoot her. With the wrist control and speed of a marauder i shot her at the head with perfect marksmanship.

I knew this wasn’t over yet though. I could sense she had a precious thing on her. The next second i heard the sound of mirror crack and she reappeared somewhere else.

But as i guessed this I didn’t leave her a chance to fight back. I immediately shoot at her with my clones. But the werewolf that recovered jumped to save her. This time it didn’t get shot too.

From the werewolf’s impression i deduced he had feelings for the witch. I could use this. I could use this.

But before i could do that the witch compressed a black flame in her hands and threw it at us. The force was as big as a cannon fire.

…

All the clones were disappeared. The witch Jamie got close to the burning body of the guy with monocle who came out of nowhere. She didn’t know who this guy was. Did the church decide to hunt them?

Suddenly she heard a gunshot. She looked at her “dearest friend” and saw that the werewolf was shot at his head. She screamed as she ran towards there but then suddenly she got shot 4 times from her back.

She looked back to see 3 guys who looked exactly the same smiling at her while smoke was coming out of their revolvers end.

Then she heard her friends cry. That’s when she realized she was under hallucination.

…

I was able to fool the witch with hallucination then created water clones again at the same place to kill her. She didn’t have any mirror left as I didn’t sense anything precious on her.

However me shooting werewolf was also a hallucination. And this time he was even angrier. He ran in rage towards the Noma who was standing apart from the others who had a few small wounds.

But the moment he sliced the throat of him the clone turned into water. Then the other 3 “clones” started shooting him. Then werewolf had a great vitality but it didn’t have enough time to regenerate.

As we stopped to change bullets i said with a mocking tone “Anger can be a fire that warms; but rage is the wildfire that destroys.” before i used a water clone to shoot him in his head pointblank.

Right after i shot him with the clone it suddenly got pierces with a huge spear. Then i saw a giant walk towards here. It didn’t show any emotion as he walked without a rush.

It was going to be hard to kill him if he actually didn’t have any emotion as i couldn’t fool him.

I sensed that he carried something really precious on a bag that he carried. Just before he took out to take something from it i shot the rope that carried the bag to stop him.

The bag fell but whatever was in it didn’t fall from it. The giant guy looked at me before taking out a small sword that he used like a big dagger to attack.

He jumped towards another clone before i could react. He was extremely fast. Truly worthy of the path with strongest physical power.

However before he could attack the other clones i recreated them and they shot him. I could use this strategy to kill him. But then i felt like my right eye burned. This must have been the effect of prolonged use.

Although i was easily angered by the monocle i could control myself as a swindler. But i didn’t have any power against this negative effect.

I quickly took out the monocle. But i had a big problem now. How could i fight a guy this strong whom didn’t have any emotions without a sealed artifact? Well i had to find a way.

I rolled to get a revolver that fell after i dispelled the water bodies. Then i started shooting the giant with both revolvers. I had used 8 bullets that hit him in the chest. Although giant was hurt badly it was not enough to stop him.

He punched me in my stomach and send me flying. I wasn’t able to breath now. I stopped by crashing onto a tree.

We were both injured badly. But the emotionless giant kept walking towards me. I dropped the revolvers after getting hit so i didn’t have anything to fight back but my punches.

I had no chance to win like this so i started using cogitation. Perhaps i could use the monocle again. But my spiritual perception warned me clearly.

Just as I thought this was the end my horse that stopped burning after i killed the witch kicked the giant. Then after the kick the horse died. It used rest of it’s strength to save me.

The giant staggered before falling. I crawled towards a revolver and started shooting the giant. After hitting it twice on it’s head i fainted.

…

I woke up again after a few minutes. Inside the pocket of the werewolf i was feeling something precious. The most precious thing in here.

I found a healing potion in it. Indeed the definition of precious was changing depending on the situation.

After healing myself i collected the beyonder characteristics and i got the bag the giant carried with him that had something precious.

Now that i saved me new house in the mountain i started to walk towards the city. It was time to appraise these items.
