Anyone else get chest pain from gynecomastia when sleeping on their side?

I’ve been dealing with chest pain for about 9 months now, and I’m trying to figure out the cause. I’ve had gynecomastia for around 20 years, but the pain only started recently, and it seems connected to how I sleep.

The pain happens in the exact same spot every time, right in the center of my chest, between the breasts. When I sleep on my side, the chest tissue presses together and forms a kind of “./” shape, and the dot is exactly where the pain happens. It feels like a pressure point from the tissue pushing together, and sometimes I even feel slight shortness of breath in that position. As soon as I change positions, the pain and breathing discomfort go away.

I’ve had a heart ultrasound (echocardiogram) done by a cardiologist, and everything looked normal, they said it’s likely muscular. I also had an endoscopy, which showed mild gastritis, but that doesn’t explain the localized pressure pain that only comes when lying a certain way.

Sleeping on my back helps a lot, but I’d really like to find out if others have gone through this. I’m wondering if this could be a valid reason to get gynecomastia surgery, not just for cosmetic reasons, but to relieve physical discomfort like this.

Has anyone experienced this kind of recurring pain from gynecomastia when sleeping? I’d really appreciate hearing your experience.
