Tell me honestly

Honest question: what exactly made Star Wars so special and popular? I’m on the 3rd movie now, but I can’t say I’m hooked yet. I really want to understand what people saw in it (this is coming from a place of curiosity, so please don’t come at me). From your point of view, what made you love it?
