How can I talk to a girl I like?

I am in my first year of med school and II really like this girl, she seems to have the same interests as me (No I didn't spy on her it's a long story but she said them out loud), she looks kind and overall very pretty, she laughed at a few jokes I made too, I really want to strike up a conversation but don't know how to , even just to be friends as not many people share my hobbies where I live .Thanks for your help guys!
