[BR] Seller asked me to close the dispute. Now I can’t reopen and AliExpress won’t help.
I bought a battery tester (FNIRSI HRM-10) through AliExpress. It was shipped from within Brazil, arrived fast, and worked — for about a week. Then it died completely.
I opened a dispute, sent video proof showing that the device doesn’t turn on anymore. That’s when the seller messaged me saying “close the dispute, I’ll send you a return address here in Brazil and refund you.” I was trying to solve it peacefully, so I trusted him and closed the dispute.
Huge mistake.
He took days to respond after that. By the time he sent the address, the system already blocked me from reopening the dispute. I contacted AliExpress — and got the same copy-paste messages over and over again.
Worse: they sent me links to reopen the dispute, but they had the wrong order number. Not once, not twice — I’ve received the same broken links five or six times. And even with the correct order number, the page says: “Dispute expired.”
Eventually I managed to reach someone from support (a real person, named Eula), who actually understood the problem and admitted the seller violated the rules. She said the seller shouldn’t have asked me to close the dispute, and that I’m legally unable to return the product to China because it has a LiPo battery, which is prohibited by Brazilian law.
She opened an internal case (ID 2053805203282373) and submitted a full refund request to their higher team. But guess what? A day later I got another auto-reply telling me to reopen the dispute using — surprise — the same broken link with the wrong order.
At this point, I’ve:
- Submitted video evidence (5 parts)
- Sent screenshots of the system errors
- Uploaded the full conversation with the seller
- Explained that return is illegal
- Followed every instruction — and got punished for trusting a seller
Now the seller wants me to ship it on my own and says he’ll “refund me via PayPal” — off-platform. Yeah, no thanks.
This entire process shows how broken AliExpress buyer protection really is if the seller manipulates the timeline. And once that dispute expires, they do nothing to fix it — even if it's their fault.
Just sharing this to warn others: never close a dispute unless your refund is already approved. I made that mistake and now I’m stuck with a dead product and no guarantee of anything.
