Tik Tok problem for new user please help

Hi everyone that reads this.

I just got tik tok on the website version and i can't follow anyone. Ive made an account on the website version i can watch videos freely but i can't follow anyone.

It says on my profile 0 followers too. It says request params error if that means anything too.

I have searched for accounts that I have an interest in and even been on the following page and followed some random people on there. It says following for a couple of seconds and then goes back to the option to follow.

Im making an account for my son on his laptop as being the good dad i am i dont really want him anymore addicted to his phone and for now i have no restrictions on the account. He is getting quite upset so please help us.
