Jurassic World: Rebirth – Where’s the heart?

SpoilerJurassic World: Rebirth

Just saw Jurassic World: Rebirth and honestly… I miss when these movies had characters you actually cared about.

In the original Jurassic Park, Grant, Sattler, and Malcolm had depth. You wanted to know more about them, even before the dinosaurs showed up. Here, they tried to mimic that formula, but it felt empty. I didn’t care about anyone’s backstory because the film didn’t give me a reason to. The romance between Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey felt forced—zero real chemistry compared to the quiet tension between Grant and Sattler.

The dino scenes had decent action and a few jumpy moments which were better and a bit scarier than the Chris Pratt era, but still a bit predictable. It’s always “dino shows up → immediate bite → next scene.” No suspense, no fake-out, no hesitation. Just chomp chomp.

Still trying to figure out what the movie was really going for emotionally. It looked good on the surface, but it lacked the wonder and soul that made Jurassic Park special.

Anyways—quick question to anyone else who saw it: what was up with the crashed plane/helicopter scene? Martin Krebs finds it, there’s a dead body leaking something, a dog tag floating in the water… but they never explain it. Was that supposed to mean something? A setup for a sequel? A throwback I missed?
