NZXT Fan hub not working

Hi

Since i'm upgrading my pc i decided to install more fans and control them with a fan controller. I bought the "NZXT Fan & RGB Hub" alongside 2 Noctua 140mm fans but when i went to install it i discovered my MOBO only has 2 USB2 headers which where occupied by my Kraken Z63 AIO and my PCIE Wifi/bluetooth expansion card.

To solve this i purchased the "NZXT Internal USB hub", connected it to the MOBO and then connected the Kraken AIO & the fan hub to the USB hub.

I connected the USB hub and the Fan hub to the PSU and connected the 2x140mm Noctua PWM fans to the fans hub "FAN PORT 1" and connected 3x120mm 3-pin NZXT fans to the hubs "FAN PORT 2".

Afterwards the PC wouldnt boot. I have tried switching around which USB's where connected to the MOBO and which where connected to the USB HUB and how the 2 hubs where powered.

a few times i got the pc to boot but then the fans connected to the hub were dead and NZXT CAM didnt show the hub. Most of the time though either nothing happens when i press the power button or the fans spin up for a second and then nothing.

WHAT in the world is the issue here? please, any help or suggestion is appreciated since i've sunk ~150EUR into the fans and 2 hubs.
