AITA for changing and being "distant" after a divorce?
Context for is ITA. I got divorce last year from my high school sweet heart. It was amicable (mostly). We shared a friendship group that we both met while at uni and have known for 10+ years. During the divorce my grandma also passed away from cancer which hit hard because my mum passed away from cancer 2 years ago and it brought back a lot of emotions.
Since the split all but one of the mutual friends has completely shunned me, despite my ex telling them they didn't want that and both of us expressing our wish to all stay friends. This happened around 3 months ago.
I have my own friends separate from my ex who have now started telling me that they feel Since the divorce that I have pulled away from them and become distant.
I know I haven't been the upbeat person I was before this all happened because ive been processing a lot of change and I can admit I haven't been as active in social events.
During this time I have also had to buy a new place in a new city, which for anyone trying to buy in 2025 knows, was super stressful!
I have done my best to go to social events, invite people out and have people over to mine through all of this but I am just not as social as before.
Two of my best friends have expressed to me that they can feel me pulling away and I have explained my thoughts to them but one has removed me from their wedding party (which is valid as its their wedding and they feel we aren't as close) but i really need to know AITA for being a bit more distant.
I am really trying to be more communicative but still wonder if im just an a for how ive reacted to everything.
For additional context i used to be the one who planned most of what we all did together but I just dont have the energy for this at the moment.
