Soil for first repot

Hi, I have a blue jacaranda and flame tree from one of those bonsai planting kits that came with little burlap sacs to plant them in. I planted them in May last year and I think it’s about time for a repot but I’m lost on what sort of pot/container would be the right shape and side to upgrade from a burlap sac. Also wondering what sort of soil I should use.. preferable the easiest and most cost effective option. I know you shouldn’t repot often so I want to make sure I do it right!
