How should I sell/ get rid of my old car?

I'm looking to get a new car at the end of the year and putting some money down on getting a new one. I have an old beat down mk6 golf tdi with 125000 miles on it and a lot of visual damage on the outside. I though the cost to repair it and then sell I will end up loosing money on it. What will be the best way to raise some money while getting rid of it?
