Have you used Care for Kids..?

Information or Tip

Hi friends! I'm looking for nannies who have used or are using the program Vare for Kid's . Bonus points if you're from Connecticut- as I don't know if it varies from state to state. I have a mom who's reached out to me for PT help for her 4 kids and had offered Care for Kids as a service to pay me vs my traditional way of payment. Typically I change 25-27$ per hour, but I have a sympathetic feeling that that's out of her process range. This also would add to my already 35hr work week, which is my main income, so I feel more obligated to lower my rate and check this program out. I've never used it and am completely unfamiliar with it.

So, what are your thoughts? What's the process like? How do taxes work with it? Does it show on your end as reportable income? What's the pay look like compared to an hourly wage? What have you liked/disliked? Have parents you've worked for supplemented the income if the amount given per program is very low?

I want to go into our next meeting in a couple days with as much learned info about this as I can. And experience is the best teacher. Thanks guys!
