Some quick thoughts after finishing the story. [ENDGAME]
-I think the game's heavy story beats hit 10x harder as a father/parent - nothing makes my gut sink deeper than the thought of losing my son, and that one scene of Lou looking at Sam in the DHV Magellan at the sink was such an emotional gut punch. Harrowing to think what Sam must have been going through as a father. Any other dads relate to me here?
-The coffin board is hilariously OP, ended up using it way more and basically abandoned my zipline network. I love it dearly.
-Sam crying in the shower about the fact that Lou was never there almost made me cry too. Once again, as a dad this hits like a truck.
-I really liked how the game just abandons all of the BB mechanics after Sam comes to terms with it, even more so when the pod wasn't even hanging in Sam's room anymore. Felt a lot more impactful and poignant.
-The Yotei mask looks cool.
-I was almost tearing my hair out towards the end for any more crumbs of anything Sam/Lou after she remembers everything - I just REALLY wished we had more interactions between the two?
-The guitar battle at the end is so stupid and campy it comes back around to being absolutely incredible. Same with Die Hardman's intro.
-"Those who dare disrespect pizza do not deserve to live"
-My jaw nearly hit the floor with that Elder reveal - felt like a Scooby Doo unmasking or some shit
-It's sad to see the DHV Magellan abandoned on the coast in the end.
-I was actually pretty sad to see Fragile die.
-Neil got fucked over by literally everyone he interacted with. Poor guy.
I'd love to hear your thoughts about the game too, please share in the comments!
