Audeze LCD loose connection issue

I just got some LCD-2’s used. I’m having a strange issue where the sound will come in intermittent. If I loosely plug the mini XLR in, the sound will come through, but the moment I fully seat it with a click, the sound stops. The cables are mini XLR’s to both ear cups and terminates to a 1/4 connector at the DAC

Is that a connection issue with the headphones? Or is it a DAC setting issue? I’ve tried different settings like Lo/Hi power output but it doesn’t change anything
