How has Outlander helped you or made you a better person?

SpoilerSpoilers All

I heard someone say that she grew the same age as the Harry Potter characters she read about, and her identification with the characters gave her courage when she needed it. So thinking about the Outlander books…1)I am more accepting and patient towards my husband being a guy, and therefore thinking & acting different from me. This has made me a more loving spouse. 2)Further, I channel Claire as a nurturing cook—OK, not the greatest, but intrepid, has the stew pot on, is thinking over what’s in the root cellar, and getting satisfaction from pushing more bread across the table to fill them up. She rises to it and makes a decent job of it even though it’s not totally in her wheelhouse, and not her calling. 3) I am spiritually uplifted by Jamie’s close companionship with God. 3) It calms me down that the book is there to pick up anytime. And it adds pleasure to my life.
