Shakespeare Baitcaster doesn’t want to cast out far anymore

Hey y’all. Some on here might remember me posting about my friends dad giving me a Shakespeare Alpha a month or so ago and it was broken. I ended up taking it apart and fixing it and it worked great. I brought it to spend the 4th with my parents this weekend and it crapped out on me halfway through fishing yesterday. It was working perfectly fine. I caught a 3lbs bass on it and then right after that it won’t cast worth a damn anymore. It’ll get maybe 7ft in front of me and that’s it. I’ve got my settings right I think. It’s not bird nesting. Just won’t cast anymore and nothing changed. My bait is the same. Weight is the same. Settings weren’t changed. The only thing was that bass. It fought a little hard with it but that’s it. Any ideas what could cause that?
