Adorable nerd boy seeks someone who loves knowledge, whimsically applied, as much as he does. I come with a voice that's easy on the ears, the speech patterns of a Victorian naturalist, and at least some of the personality to match.

I am somehow a combination of "hopeless romantic" and "geopolitics enthusiast", and it is exactly as chaotic, eclectic, and intermittently boring as it sounds. I long to see your eyes light up as you present your thesis for solving some niche societal problem nobody talks about - or, well, about anything high-minded, really.

Topics of conversation may range from "how can we restore trust in our democratic institutions" to "how many times is it acceptable to reuse a freezer bag before being considered uncivilised". In all seriousness, though, thinking about the big picture in the world is very important to me, and if you're the kind of person that has intricate ideas, I'd love to hear them.

Please note that, as a result, I have this nasty habit of asking questions on an array of topics completely out of nowhere - don't take it personally if I cold open a conversation asking for your opinion on Turkish rugs.

I'm sure you'll be positively shocked to find out I play a variety of games, but my mainstays right now are Final Fantasy XIV, Honkai: Star Rail (Phainon is the goodest boy), and Helldivers II (democracy protects). I've played many, many other titles in my time, so feel free to tell me what you like to play; but I generally enjoy (MMO)RPGs, co-op shooters, and the odd Minecraft session.

Now, a confession: the only animals I'm fond of are the plushie variety. Real animals and I have a polite, but distant understanding.

Other miscellaneous facts about me: I'm half-Chinese, 5'3", slim, atheist, very left-wing, a physicist by training, and a patent examiner by trade.

For your part, the qualities I value most in a person are a kind heart and a sharp wit, with a flair for the absurd! The nerd with a heart of gold. I can't promise our meeting will flourish into a deep and long-lasting relationship, but I'm here to find someone with whom it could, given the appropriate time and care. One day I hope to bask, in our shared, silly little world, in the brilliance of your magnificence (and you in mine). Regardless of outcome, it is always a joy to get to know new people.
