Login help please!

I'm trying to help my son play Minecraft with his friends and I'm just unable to figure it out. Help!

We have the game on PS5

I made him a Microsoft account.

Every time I try logging in to the Microsoft account on the PS5 I get a Drowned error message (Failed to login, access to Realms, Profiles etc maybe limited.)

I'm scanning the QR code with my phone and logging in, everything appears to be working fine after jumping through all the hoops with access codes, etc). What can I be doing wrong? We've tried restarting everything multiple times. Jumping back and forth from my email to get the access codes etc is a headache and I'm over it, but I'm trying to help him any way I can. Thanks!
