Pyogenic Granuloma - treated with salt!

Info

I’m a male but during my research I read it happens often during pregnancy, so I hope this might help you too!

I was walking to the gym and suddenly had the biggest bleeding on my under lip. Due to me using tretinac (accutane I think it‘s in the US) I‘m prone to having very dry lips if I don‘t apply proper chapstick and drink coffeine for the gym.

Suddenly this little ball grew on my under lip, always bleeding and oozing very little. I went to three different pharmacists and they all told me to use bepanthen (a cream to fatten the wound). After 3 days, it didn‘t help at all and I‘ve made literally no progress.

I then took a picture, asked ChatGPT what it could be and it gave me my diagnosis: PG. ChatGPT also recommended me using fattening cream, but I wanted to deepen my research within Google instead of the AI output.

I then found an old reddit post using a salt treatment from a Canadian family doctor: https://www.cfp.ca/content/69/7/479.

I gave it a try as the cream didn‘t help at all. The results: within 3 days the PG fully got removed and my lips are looking nice again! Even after the first salt treatment the „ball“ immediatly turned black and kept on shrinking and finally fell of.

This might help a few people-I would suggest going to a derm if you can but it was too expensive so I‘m super glad I found a very easy solution.

I can also provide pics how it looked before I did it.
