Recommendations for what I should bring?

Question

I grew up hiking in the Rockies but stopped for years and now I’m in my 30s with my own kid (7) and I love taking her on day hikes around our home in Quebec. We used to go on some provincial park hikes but now we’re doing less busy, more difficult trails and we love our adventures but I feel like an amateur - we have good hiking boots, water, bug spray, first aid kit, sunscreen and a tick remover. I use alltrails but I still get lost sometimes and today I think we might have had a close encounter with some more dangerous wildlife and I felt unprepared I just had us both sing really loud. What should I have in my pack? We’re talking like 6 hours or less.
