Do the writers know what grief even is?
I’m genuinely asking... have any of the writers ever experienced the shock of losing someone suddenly? Because the way grief is portrayed on this show feels sooo disconnected from any kind of emotional reality.
First, we had Carrie’s bizarrely muted reaction to Big’s heart attack. Don’t even get me started on that cold, chaotic mess. And now… Lisa’s dad dies unexpectedly, and her reaction is what? A dainty little “oh no no” and five seconds of elegant sobbing before she powers through the day like nothing happened?
I’m sorry, but if I missed a call about a loved one being on their death bed because my phone was on silent and I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye? I would absolutely lose my ever loving mind. IDC if they were 40 or 104.
These scenes feel like they're written by people who've only read about grief in a pamphlet. It's so emotionally sterile, it’s almost insulting. Idek why I keep coming back to this show, I'm just hate-watching atp.
