What advice to people moving to Maine?

Hello everyone,

My wife is about to get transferred to Maine from western Canada. (Rocky Mountains) What areas should we more or less avoid ? She will be based out of Augusta.

Her visa will not let me work there yet but it will come. We both make over 100k a year but moving to a new country we have no US credit so we would be forced to rent a house at first.

I hear people say winters are bad. We get -45F here every year so I can’t see it being much worse that.

Do you get power outages often? In western Canada the power lines are all underground due to the snow falls we have here so we never get power outages in the winter.

Hmm what else… I have a giant SUV so I’m sure that will be fine (ford expedition max)
