Some of the many ideas I have:
➣ Peaky Blinders
-
Remembered Promises – Her older brother fought alongside Tommy for a brief period of time in France. The bond between those men after the war was one only they could understand. A promise was made to look out for each other once they got back home, even if it would be years before her brother took Thomas up on that promise. When he fell ill and eventually passed as a result, he sent his sister to seek out Thomas Shelby as he knew the man now had the means to take care of her. Maybe he gives her a job at the company or even a place to stay at his estate? This is a rough idea, but totally open for discussion!
-
The Seamstress and the Sinner – Thomas commissions a custom suit from a small but skilled tailoring shop and meets Isabelle, the seamstress’s sweet-natured daughter who handles fittings. She’s clever, observant, and quietly ambitious, but still deeply traditional. They bond over shared moments during fittings, and her steady presence becomes a balm to his chaotic life. Isabelle is respectful, delicate, and dreams of a simple life with a strong provider. Thomas begins courting her in an old-fashioned way—gifts, protection, even asking her father for permission. But when rivals threaten her life, he must choose between keeping her safe through violence or letting her go.
-
The Rose of the Countryside – Thomas Shelby, weary from war and the weight of leadership, retreats to the countryside to negotiate a land deal for expanding Shelby Company Ltd. There, he meets Eleanor, a modest and gentle woman who runs her family's small farm and takes care of her younger siblings. Her kindness disarms him; she's unlike the women in his world-pure-hearted, warm, and untouched by violence. Eleanor nurtures and softens Thomas's hardened edges, while he protects her fiercely from encroaching threats, both business and personal. She becomes a symbol of the peace he craves but fears he can never have.
➣ Vikings: Valhalla
-
Frost and Flame – Freya, a healer’s daughter, lives in a small Norse village Harald stops at while fleeing betrayal. She is beautiful, serene, and embodies everything Harald never had: peace. After she saves his life from an infected wound, they begin an intense love affair under the cover of snow and firelight. But Harald cannot stay—his destiny calls him to blood and crowns. Freya is offered a place by his side, but it means abandoning her quiet world.
-
Whispers of the Seer – A seeress foretells that Harald will fall for a woman “as soft as silk but stronger than steel.” He then encounters her, a noblewoman raised in the Christian tradition but with secret pagan roots. She’s beautiful, devout, and compassionate—a stark contrast to his violent world. Despite her gentle demeanor, she proves an unexpected match for Harald’s fire.
➣ Kingdom Come: Deliverance
- The Miller’s Daughter — Henry, now a trusted swordsman and servant to Sir Radzig, often visits a nearby village to oversee tax collections and justice. There, he meets Klara, the gentle and beautiful daughter of the local miller. She’s known for her skill in baking and embroidery, as well as her kindness to beggars and animals. Though humble, Klara embodies the ideal of the time: obedient, modest, and devout. She is shy around Henry, but her quiet strength begins to capture his heart. However, her father disapproves of a relationship with a warrior, fearing Henry’s life is too dangerous for his daughter.
When raiders attack the village, Henry fights to protect the townspeople. Klara tends to the wounded, including Henry. Her courage and nurturing nature impress her father, who eventually allows their courtship—so long as Henry proves his intentions by seeking land or a stable household to provide for her. Romance develops through chaste visits and courtly gestures—Henry brings gifts, helps with repairs at the mill, and attends church with her.
➣ Red Dead Redemption
-
The Road to Bellwater — After a quiet, secret wedding in a dusty chapel outside Rhodes, Arthur and Eliza Langston, a schoolteacher pregnant with his child, pack up their modest belongings and flee the life of crime for good. They head west under assumed names, aiming for the remote frontier town of Bellwater, where no one knows Arthur Morgan and no one cares about his past. Along the way, they dodge Pinkertons and bounty hunters, survive storms and dangerous terrain, and grow closer with every hardship. Arthur begins to open up emotionally, learning how to be a husband, and preparing to be a father. They finally arrive in Bellwater, where Arthur takes honest work as a stablehand. When a familiar face from the Van der Linde gang threatens to expose them, Arthur must protect his family—not just with bullets, but by confronting his past and burying it once and for all.
-
Heaven’s Edge — Arthur marries Serena Holt, a quiet, steel-strong former homesteader with whom he shared a slow, tender romance during the gang’s time in Ambarino. She’s pregnant when they decide to abandon the gang for good, faking their deaths during a botched job to throw the Pinkertons off the trail. They ride into the high country—snowy wilderness, far from anyone—settling in a remote cabin near the edge of a cliff they name Heaven’s Edge. There, they try to build a life from nothing: hunting, fishing, chopping wood, and preparing for their child’s arrival. But isolation isn’t protection forever. A lone bounty hunter finds them, and Arthur is forced to kill again—one last time. The peace that follows isn’t perfect, but it’s real.
➣ The Last Kingdom
-
The Shieldmaker’s Daughter - Uhtred meets Edith, a skilled craftswoman whose father forges shields for Saxon warriors. She’s feminine, modest, and quiet—but clever with words and observant of men. She admires Uhtred’s strength, but he’s too wild and unpredictable for marriage. When her village is overrun, Uhtred rescues her—but in doing so, compromises her reputation. Her father demands Uhtred either marry her or leave her dishonored. Uhtred, caught between duty and pride, hesitates. Edith surprises Uhtred by offering a different kind of partnership—not one of conquest, but of devotion and purpose. He marries her, and she becomes his anchor, managing his estate and softening his edges.
-
The Christian Healer - Wounded in battle, Uhtred is tended by a healer, Hilda, a devout Christian woman with knowledge of herbs, prayer, and midwifery. She is modest and obedient, seeing healing as a calling from God. Her faith conflicts with Uhtred’s pagan ways. She refuses to lie with him outside of marriage and insists on a godly household. Uhtred mocks her piety but is slowly moved by her unwavering care and quiet conviction. He marries her in the Christian way, surprising even himself. Over time, her calm presence becomes the only peace he knows, and though he never fully converts, he protects her church and her faith with fierce devotion.
➣ Assassin's Creed: Valhalla
-
The Widow and the Warlord – Eivor is placed in command of a settlement where tensions simmer between the Norse and local Saxons. There he meets Edith, a widow who speaks with quiet pride and keeps her small farm alone. Her past is marked by grief—her husband fell to Eivor’s kind—but she shows courage and resolve beyond what he expects. Eivor begins to assist her discreetly—repairing her home, helping with the fields. At first, she resents him, but his humility and strength begin to soften her stance. When a group of rogue Norsemen threatens her, Eivor defends her honor without hesitation. Eventually, he offers not just protection—but a future.
-
The Baker’s Daughter – When the new baker sets up in Ravensthorpe, his daughter Thyra quickly becomes the center of attention. With golden hair and a sharp wit, she charms the townsfolk—and frustrates her father by refusing all suitors. Eivor first dismisses her as a distraction, but one morning he finds her defending a child from a drunken soldier. Impressed by her courage, he begins stopping by the bakery more often. As Thyra teaches him the art of baking, she also challenges him with her independence and expectations: she wants a man who values family, not just battle glory.
