"If the music sounds good I like it"

It’s a statement that’s obviously true and I agree with it in a vacuum, but like am I the only one who sometimes gets annoyed when it’s used as a dismissive thought terminating cliche? Like I get all taste is subjective and music taste ultimately doesn’t matter, but like you should be ready to at least talk about music when you’re in a place where music discussion is the whole purpose than just throw this sentence out and refuse to engage further. I’m not asking for professional music reviews but anything is better than this sentence. Even just "the song is catchy and fun and that’s why I like it" is better than this saying.
