Baitcaster question

I’ve been using one for a couple seasons now and getting better. However yesterday I was tossing 20lb braid 12lb mono backing and 10 lb fluro leader. It kept getting hung up about 15 ft out every time. I didn’t see any knots or digging. It just stopped violently. One time so hard it sent my leader flying. Any thoughts?
