just trying to clear my mind
I'm totally broke, that's the reality. Bad financial decisions and bad luck have got me to this day. I owe around 20k in credit cards to 3 different banks, I owe around 8k to a loan company because I had a car accident last year and I had to borrow more money to repair the car, months later I got fired from the job I was employed in and spent 4 months without income until I found another job.
Things ended with them 2 and a half months later but it wasn't because of me or them (personal details, it was a bad company but it was keeping me afloat a bit). My car got repossessed around april, the payoff was around 32k. I haven't had employment since 5 months ago and I don't know for how long more. One of the credit card banks sent 2 accounts to collection (I think soon or later everyone will do the same thing) and they are threating me with suing, the personal loan company is talking about the same. I reached to pro bono offices in my district but all they've been talking about is pro se because I don't have money to pay a lawyer.
One of them suggested to fill the waiving fee form for bankruptcy and one other said I shouldn't do these kind of things alone. My family has been helping me with rent and food and the last advisor said I'll need an affidavit signed from them but I don't want to ask them to sign me anything because for starters they are very pissed at me about my financial state and say they can't believe I've got to this point. Me neither.
The suing threats have me scared af and I don't know what would happen if they get me to court, I imagine myself just looking at how the next paycheck of my life (if any) disappears in front of my eyes because it gets divided between all the collection agencies. I don't really know what happens in these cases and I couldn't reach a payable arrangement with everyone even if I had a new job, I can't work for now and I don't know for how long. Even when I could sometimes applications take months to be lucky.
I'm trying to get a clear view of what is to come and what to do in order for this to be the lightest possible on my mental health because it sure is killing me. I am not sure whom of the two advisors listen to, the first one tells me to do it but he actually is a very bad listener and I think he is just trying to get rid of my calls. The other one sounds experienced but she said without an affidavit I'm not going to be able of get this to good terms, I really don't want to bother my family more and more.
Also I don't know if different judges can order a paycheck to be divided, I guess it is possible but I would just be literally working only to pay debts and that also scares me. I'm kinda paralyzed due to this to be honest, I don't really know what's the best move. Certainly it is not to take my attention away from this situation.
