Getting Karma is confusing and I don’t understand sub reddits

Hi guys I’m confused on what a sub Reddit is and how karma is gained. I have lots of thing I want to comment on but I can’t. I tried googling it but I still didn’t understand it as I have a learning disability. I’d appreciate it if someone could explain this very simply to me. Thank you very much
