Recommendations for a game like Taisho x Alice or a game with a Yandere LI

Request

Hey r/otomegames! I was into otome games as a kid and recently got back into them. I played Taisho x Alice and have been obsessed - I can't get it out of my head. In fact, after reading this post back, I feel like I mentioned it a million times lol. I did play the fan disc and decided to move on by playing a new game. I saw that Nightshade was recommended as a dark game so I played that one next. It was a great game, don't get me wrong, but it left me wanting more in the romance department. And so, I figured I'd make a post on here!

  • What platforms do you have available?

- PC, on Steam if possible

  • What languages are you ok with? English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean etc

- English

  • How much do you want to spend, or do you have budget concerns, or do you want to play for free?

- Less than 30$ if possible, but I'm willing to pay up to 60$

  • What games have you already played and what did you like and not like about them?

Dandelion - Wishes Brought to You: My first true otome game. I loved the art, the story, and the LIs. I didn't really care for the stat building but I always play with a guide so I'm indifferent on it.

Nameless - The One Thing You Must Recall: I really like the LIs in this game. They're more unhinged and the story was more impactful to me.

Fashioning Little Miss Lonesome: I liked the romance and steaminess in this game. Also, it was really funny.

Amnesia: I'm not sure if it's because I played this after Nameless, but I couldn't get into the story. I've picked it up three times and haven't been able to enjoy it even after finishing the first route. I didn't care for the mystery of it all. It's a shame because I've heard >!Toma's route is good since he's super yandere with the cage and all!<, but >!the Heroine and the other characters besides Waka weren't my thing.!<

Taisho x Alice: This game made me fall back in love with the genre. I wish I could play this game all over again. It's so tragic but heartwarming. And it's so funny, I literally took so many screenshots of the dialogue. And Yurika is my favorite main character of all time now. I'm really looking for a game that is just like this.

Nightshade: I really like the plot in this game. However, it was hard for me to enjoy since the romance was a lot less than what I am used to. Also, maybe it was just Steam, but skipping was very slow.

Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly: I haven't played this game yet. I was going to play after Nightshade but decided to put it aside since I've heard it's not really romantic.

  • What's more important in the story to you - plot or romance?

In a perfect world, I would love it to be 50/50 like how Taisho x Alice is. Normally I don't mind more plot in a game, but after finishing Taisho x Alice I'm really looking for a game that leans more romantic. If the plot is dark and angsty, that would be a huge plus, but isn't 100% needed. No matter if the game is dark or not, I would like the game to have humorous moments. I love a good cringey/campy moment. Also, it would be cool if the plot was overarching but it isn't a deal breaker.

  • What character or plot tropes do you like? What preferences do you have in terms of genre and love interests?

I love yandere characters, like >!Gretel!< in Taisho x Alice and >!Tei!< and >!Yeonho!< in Nameless. I also really enjoyed >!Kuroyuki!< in Nightshade but thought he was a bit tame.

Also, I'm not sure what type of character (big spoiler) >!Alistair!< is from Taisho x Alice or >!The Wizard!< in Taisho x Alice, but they're cool too!

I also like a strong female lead like Yurika from Taisho x Alice. Setting isn't important to me.

  • Do you have anything that you really dislike in otome games?

I would prefer the game to not have microtransactions and to already be complete. Also, I would prefer a main character that has a bit of agency (But if they grow overtime in a route that's fine too).

  • What do you consider value for your time and money? Voice acting, length of game and amount of content, amount or quality or consistency of art, physical copies, language options, after story and bonus content, confidence that you will like most LIs etc

Voice acting with the LI's would be cool. A cute art style would be nice but isn't a deal breaker.

Thank you all! I hope this was enough information and I used the spoiler tags correctly. If I need to explain more, I'll reply to comments and add edits to this post as needed.
