do i ghost him?

i'm very new to dating and boys in general, so i'm not really sure what to do.

i saw this boy at my work and approached him because i thought he was cute. i asked if he had a ig or anything and he gave me his snap. he sent me a snap first, i assumed it was just for streaks. we sent some text messages back and forth, but i was pretty much asking all the questions in the conversation. i wasn't sure if he was really interested. he also sent me selfies, which again, i thought were streaks. however, he sent them multiple times a day and so i casually and flirtatiously asked him are the selfies just for streaks or was this HIS way of flirting? he only said he never keeps his streaks, and then sent me another selfie the next day. i genuinely cannot tell if he is interested or not, and i'm not interested in going in circles. what would be the proper thing to do here? should i just slowly fade out and not reply? i would feel kinda mean doing that especially since i approached him. he also lives in a different state, so the likelihood of me seeing him again is very small.
