Am i being lead on?
Exactly a month ago i applied for a firestopping apprenticeship alongside a resin floor layer, the resin floor laying includes staying away.
3 days into firestopping i’m taking out of town for resin floor laying, The boss picked me up from my house at 5am three times, out of all three he was late.
While we are out of town the boss that took me out of town for resin floors gets into an altercation with the head firestopper, the firestopper then goes “i don’t want any of YOUR guys with MY firestoppers”, i am then told i am no longer doing firestopping but as i have carpentry qualifications i’ll be going onto another project and doing sone chippy work.
On the very last day away i was told to be up for quarter to 8, but i thought he said quarter past 8, I showed up to the van late apologetic and explaining that i misheard the time, he completely ignored me and drove to the site in silence, when we arrived at the site he then pulled me for a chat saying “we have always started at quarter to 8, we are now late and i have to explain to the person running the site why we are late and we all look like mugs now”, “i don’t mind helping you learn but being this late isn’t acceptable” which i understand but this is the first time i’ve been late and i don’t agree with the “mug” or silent treatment bit.
A month has gone by and at the new project the person running it has put me on painting until they have “enough chippies to teach me and get work done.” Tomorrow we are going away and i have been notified i need to be out the house at 3am to get to the van for 4 so we can drive to the place for 8:30am.
I’m currently on the fence at the moment, i’m not sure if he’s leading me on and i’m gonna be on painting forever.
