Small strategy I've been using to help get a seed planted with savings

Misc Advice

So keep in mind, this isn't really a strategy that is fast or easy. And it requires you to have all your credit card debt paid down and have a card that gives decent cashback bonus. But what I do is I take my cashback bonus after each statement and I put them into my vanguard cash plus account. Its not exactly a HYSA but its also not really a regular savings account. They do offer a 3.65% interest rate as of right now. But sometimes it will be lower or higher.

But what I started doing is just on each of my cashback statements, I have my cashback sent to my Vanguard Cash Plus account, that way it slowly grows not just with my tiny amounts but also with the interest I earn on it.

So far I'm only up to $40, but keep in mind, I only started this recently. And I do plan on adding my actual savings to it eventually. But its just to get your foot in the door.

But that being said, don't use the cashback feature as an excuse to spend more money, still be frugal, and while I wish I didn't have to have credit cards, they do have their uses for this.
