Is it possible to hone a B48 engine?

I have a 430i Gran Coupe XDrive (2016), which is currently at repairshop. Ive been quoted to hone a cylinder. Several people have told me it is not possible to hone a 430i engine, due to the coating on the inside.

Is it possible to hone a B48 engine, or is it not realistic since the coating cannot be reapplied?
