Gift for a guy I am meeting for the first time?

So I'm meeting this guy whom I met online. I want to give him something small but thoughtful since this is an early phase.

He's an avid reader and just a few days ago I sent him a snap of a book I think he would be interested in while I was re-arranginh my old shelf. He seemed interested and I'm sure he would be in the book.

I was thinking I'll give him the same book with a sketch I made for him a while ago. I can gift him a new copy, but the point is, i want him to have something of me, so I want to give him my copy than buy a new one.

Would it be okay, or will it send some other signal?
