AirPods 3rd gen

I recently upgraded from my AirPods 2nd generation to the third generation. Every time answer a call and then use my AirPods in my ears, it hangs up my the call. I have looked at the settings and looked it up online and nothing has worked. Example: My AirPod was starting to fall out of my ear while I was on FaceTime and when I went to adjust it to put it back in, it hung up my FaceTime. And it’s done it every time with any application or while calling etc. I also tried using one AirPod while talking on the phone and once the battery run out and took the other one it hanged up the call again! No matter what I do if it is not in my ears while I use them to call anyone it hangs up as soon as I wear them! If i make it to answer and not hang up the call people on the other end can’t hear me properly. They say they hear me like I am really far away from the phone. If I even touch it then it hunds up the call right away. Please help!
