spring and water pump
Hey reddit!
So a spring popped up on my property after a strong rainstorm caused a landslide over on one side of my house. I tapped the spring and through gravity channeled it to a water tank. I then hired someone to install a water pump to the tank to get water uphill to my house. I live in a very rural area in Costa Rica and I'm pretty sure this person did not know what they were doing because the pump caused one of the pipes to burst, TWICE! So I took it upon myself to figure it out.
I'll upload pictures of what happened. But basically the pipe elbow closest to the pump is blowing up. The pressure switch is set to 30/50. From the pump to my house I'd say there is about 20 meters and the elevation is maybe 10 meters but these are estimates as I haven't measured them.
What do you all think could be causing the pipe to burst? I'm thinking that I should add more 1" piping before reducing it to 1/2". Thank you all for reading and helping out!
