Absence in my 10-year... Is it still possible?

I'm from Thailand and currently a student in the UK. This September 2025, I will reach my 10 year mark. My visa goes from Tier 4 (Child) --> Student Visa (UG) --> Student Visa (Master) --> Student Visa (PhD).

All my absent from the UK (The issue is the one that is red)

Until last year (Jan 2024), I have never exceed the absent limit (See the picture, all my absent are as shown). However, my PhD supervisor decided to sent me to do research trip (which I will be conducting research as a biological scientist). While I was there, I try to regularly come back as so not to break the continuity. However, I need to extend the EU visa to continue with the laboratory work and it was granted in July 2024. But because of this delay, financial issue, and the need to quickly finish before the deadline, I have to stayed and are unable to return.

As such, I seem to break the continuity (both the 180 days limit and the 548 days). When I check the continuous residence guidance, there is a subsection of permitted absence

research activity undertaken by a Skilled Worker which was approved by their sponsor and where the applicant was sponsored for a job in one of the following occupation codes: 2112 Biological scientists.

However, I was not on the Skilled Worker Visa. But I still did research activity that was approved by my sponsor (the university). Also, I been paying all the bills and maintaining my life in the UK while I was on the research trip. Is there a way I can do anything? or do I need to give up my 10 year?
