Can I still report domestic violence a week later?

It’s been almost a week since the incident and I wasn’t able to call the police. He took away my phone when I was calling the cops and so did his g Grandmother and he took me to the er and took days off. So I haven’t been without him. He’s abuut to go back to work and I am considering going to the police now to report it. I still have the black eye and bruised and my open eyebrow. Would they still take action after a week ?
