What should I get to improve my set? (noob)
Hi All. Total noob here. I don't play drums much (bass player) but I've cobbled together a "set" from people moving away and such. I have a decent Tama kick and toms and an ok snare. My cymbals and hardware are from a kids' set. The hi-hats are especially bad. I also have a decent Zildjian ride that is far too loud for my small basement room so I might try to sell that.
What should I start with to improve my set? I want to have drummers come over to jam and don't want to be too embarrassed. My gut says start with new hi-hats. Would I need hardware too?
Also I'm a cheap bastard. I'd be willing to put about $2-300 into the set. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
