Start Now?

I am about to start my second year of law school (in Texas). I have accepted a 2026 Summer Associate position with a big firm in NYC. I have already started the process of getting licensed in Texas but now I think I will be taking the New York bar exam. Is there anything I need to get started on now? Would it be too late if I waited until I had my return offer next summer?
