Can you still be numb from anesthesia 6+ days out from the surgery?

My mom had her surgery a little over 6 days ago; today (this morning 3am) her pain suddenly intensified and I’ve never heard her sound so miserable. I’m a bit scared. And of course I had to leave town to work a show. I’m racing back now.

She did call her nurse and the nurse apparently relaxed when she was told that mom had had a spinal anesthesia. She suggested maybe that mom was still numb and to alternate ice.

Mom is convinced she overdid it walking around (which absolutely checks out, she cannot sit still and hates being bed-bound). I’m worried it’s an infection or that something isn’t right.

Would anyone have any insight? Thanks so much for bearing with all of my posts
