New Job & Taxes
I wasn't sure exactly where to post this and I did do some searching around before creating this post, but I couldn't find another situation that was exactly like this one, so I figured it might be work asking here.
I live in NC and recently landed a job at which the corporate office is in SC. I will be on a hyrbid schedule, 2 days in the office and three at home in NC. I'm wondering what the tax situation is when I need to file. My understanding is that all income will be taxable by NC since it is my state of residency and that income earned while in SC will be taxable by SC.
I'm just wondering if I'm going to be taxed twice here essentially. That doesn't seem correct to me and I think I've been able to glean from reading that SC will essentially apply a credit that nullifies taxes there since you're paying state income tax to NC, is that correct? I'm sure there are many other people with this type of work/living situation and just looking for some guidance if possible.
Thanks!
