i confessed but she thought i was joking

Sooooo, a bit of context. About 6/7 months ago i started talking to this girl and we have everything in common, from music to hobbies to personality and we are very close, in the sense that we have told each other secrets that not even best friends or family members know about and other "couple" behaviors such as complimenting each other, cute names, but not holding hands or kissing even though we go out about once a week.

Last night, i confessed to her through text as i am a very nervous person and i wouldnt have been able to do it irl, but the problem is while initially it was supposed to be a serious confession, to not crack under pressure and have the courage to do it, i accidentally made it seem like i was joking by telling her literally beforehand that i would have confessed and by REALLY exaggerating punctuation in the confession messagges, something i avoid while texting her.

This turned out to be a fatal mistake, as she laughed and just changed the topic, but once i tried to explain i was serious, she still didnt believe me and thought it was just all a big joke. Before and after she went to sleep, i tried to explain to her once again i wasnt joking and that i would prove it by confessing irl, but in the morning she ignored all of the texts about what happened and just continued on talking to me like it never happened.

I thought that it was just to not break my heart by saying no, but i remember a couple messagges about doing it when i felt like it irl, but also messagges about hoping it was all a joke. Now i am conflicted about how i should continue from here on out.
