Got an offer from Big 4 as Senior Analyst (IT Risk Assurance) – Need guidance as a fresher!
Hey everyone,
I recently got an offer from one of the Big 4 firms for the role of Senior Analyst in IT Risk Assurance. I'm a fresher and had always planned to get into Data Science / Machine Learning, but right now, this is the offer I have in hand.
I’m a bit confused and would really appreciate insights on the following:
- Career Growth:
- How is the long-term growth in IT Risk Assurance?
- Is it possible to switch to data or analytics roles later on internally or externally?
- Should I take this and build from here, or hold out for a more data-focused role?
- Work-Life Balance:
- How manageable are the working hours in this domain?
- Is the culture in IT Risk better, worse, or similar to audit/tax/consulting?
- Nature of Work:
- What exactly does an IT Risk Assurance role involve on a daily basis?
- Is it more technical, documentation-based, or client-facing?
My priority is to build a financially strong and future-proof career, and I’m just trying to figure out if this is a smart starting point or a detour.
