[38/M] Looking for a penpal to practice Korean with (and talk travel, games, cats, and life too!)
Hi everyone!
I'm looking to find a penpal (snail mail or digital) to help me practice Korean - and hopefully make a new friend along the way!
I lived in South Korea from 2011 to 2013 and loved every minute of it. Back then, my Korean was pretty decent, but it’s gotten really rusty over the years. I still try to keep up by watching Korean tv and movies, and listening to K-pop, but honestly, it’s not quite enough. I’ve tried Duolingo, which helps a bit, but I’d really love to chat with someone who’s learning too - or is fluent and patient!
Outside of learning Korean, I LOVE traveling and have lived in Italy as well. My recent trips were to Costa Rica and Copenhagen, and my wife and I are currently eyeing Aruba for our next adventure. I also recently got to eat at the 5th best restaurant in the world - a wild 5.5 hour, 50-course experience!
I’m a big reader (36 books in 2024!), coin collector (trying to get one from every country), and cat lover (I have 2!). I’m into video games too, especially Nintendo titles like Zelda, Pokemon, and Mario. Lately I’ve been playing Paper Mario TTYD on my Switch and Indiana Jones on PS5. Tetris and Katamari are my comfort games.
I’m married and just looking for platonic friendships. If you're studying Korean too, or just want to talk about books, travel, life abroad, video games, cats, or anything else, feel free to message me!
