Someone impersonated me on Instagram, harassed someone I know, and then deactivated the account

Hi all

I need help regarding a serious issue involving impersonation and harassment on Instagram. Someone created a fake account pretending to be me (not using my name, but pretending to be me in DMs). They contacted a girl I personally know, shared personal information about me, and made vulgar statements.

She was almost convinced it was me because we are not in good terms and she is not willing to share screenshots of the messages. But I found the fake Instagram ID, but it now appears to be deactivated.

I’m extremely concerned as this affects my reputation and mental well-being.

What I’d like to know:

1. Can I file a cybercrime complaint without screenshots?

2. Can the cyber police trace the person if I provide the account ID and situation?

Any advice from legal professionals or those who’ve experienced similar situations would be really helpful. I’m 22 and this situation has made things very uncomfortable and stressful for me.
