Crown pain
Had a tooth crack about a year ago (top left, last molar), it had a decent amount of filling in it. No issues, no pain, dentist said it needed a crown. I finally got in on June 25th (couple weeks ago). He shaped it, said he was happy with it, xrays looked good. Assistant put in the temporary. Felt a tiny bit tall, and hurt when id bite down over the next week. Pain started getting worse, not better over the next week. Pain into my lower jaw, and up into my temple. Ibuprofen and Tylenol help alot. Got in early because dentist says that amount of pain isn't right. By chance, my permanent crown came in, and they installed it. He poked around to check things out, but had to numb me up. Air and water on the exposed tooth sent me through the roof, lol. Got another xray and said everything looks good. After installing the permanent, it feels better, but pain isn't completely gone. Says if it doesn't improve in a couple weeks, I need to get a special image to look for a cracked root.
My question is, how hard will it be to extract this tooth now that it's been ground down to a nub if that needs to happen?
