I'm retiring as reddit admin here. Time to enjoy my sobriety! I've written why and this subs future. Taking mod applications!
We are going to let this place more so control it self somewhat. We need more mods to help.
I personally take on 70%+ of the modding that goes on here.
Going to touch on why I feel reddit is bad for mine and possibly your recovery once you've gotten the information you need to heal and how this sub will move forward with me taking a step away.
I've discovered myself in this recovery again, old and new hobbies, new ways of eating that have completely changed my health, I run miles each day and absolutely love going to the gym and lifting / running / being around others trying to improve. It really has changed my life better than before I started kratom.
In my recovery I've found reddit is very counter productive to my happiness and my desire for a happy lifestyle away from the noise.
After setting up our discord server I've noticed that it's a much more positive happy environment, it really made me see the reddit platform for what it has become. You'd be floored by the negative comments, threats, hate, degrading things that get caught in our modding system that you don't see.
It's not good for recovery to walk into negative spaces, period. I'm happy to see some of you supporting each other and motivating each other. each month I've removed 150-300 more comments than the month prior, it's my way of helping everyone not get bombed with anger and negativity when they're in withdrawals or fear of withdrawals. It's not just here, have you seen the popular tab on reddit? Horrid.
For my mental health and recovery I've known for a couple months now that I need to leave as I cant change the way this platform works and it's echo chamber system.
Reddit seems to be a hive of anger. My personal opinion is it's a very unhealthy place to be. It promotes the worst of people. There are good people here, however they're definitely not the majority unfortunately.
I've enjoyed helping, I took over this sub reddit because I was recovering and I wanted to be able to figure everything out because there wasn't much information out there at that time for 7oh withdrawal. I believe I achieved that goal. If you check my top posts you'll see all the trials and errors, pretty much everything is covered.
I've covered all methods to get off besides cold turkey in my top posts, I've broken down minor alkaloids and what they do, how you withdrawal, how to stop it, what happens to your endocrine system. There is 7 months worth of trial and error, success, and everything you need to know about 7oh and the things they don't want you to know. If everyone combed through those top posts a lot of time would be saved.
I now understand why once people get clean they exit reddit.
Im leaving you with everything you need to get clean from pretty much any scenario
Cartmancakes will handle anything admin wise. I'll still have access in case of emergency.
I wish everyone success! It's time for me to fully embrace all the hard work put in to get clean, healthy, active, happy.
Our discord has grown a ton, it's a positive place, very social and supportive, has channels of many topics and fun to be social with others who are sober or trying to be. if im ever around I'll be there. Automod always posts a link to it on every post in the first comment.
Time for me to move on, what a journey! That kratom leaf and 7oh was a wild ride and a giant waste of my time on earth. I want you to be free and enjoying your life away from addiction. I really do. I find joy in helping people get better. I hope you get better and into a joyful life away from 7oh and kratom addiction!
You will succeed, you will find happiness. Life is so much better sober away from the people places and things that kept you addicted.
If you want to join the mod team send a mod mail. This place will continue to grow as long as the 7oh demons keep selling it
❤️✝️🖖
