Feasibility question on home filament making gear
I'm trying to figure out if it's even remotely plausible that one of the many filament making kits out there could be used to not only draw filament but also albeit perhaps in a very amateurish way be used to mix in a 0.2~1% powdered additive?
The powder consists of flakes that are on average 50 micron in dimension but only on average 2.88nm in thickness. Tested as a bulk material it has reported in-plane thermal conductivity of 443.787 W/mK but individual flakes ought to have even higher thermal conductivity. The electrical resistance tested as a bulk is in the region of 0.791 ohm x cm @ 134 kPa but again individual flakes will be less resistant than this.
Plausibly the flakes could help to reduce clogging for materials like ABS by reducing the friction coefficient and by providing more even heat distribution but I'm particularly interested in the effects it has in regards to impact resistance.
I just don't want to buy a factories production line for a day so am looking for more or less any way ghettoed or otherwise that would allow me to get some remote idea of the resulting filaments basic observable characteristics.
